Chevy Silverado 1500 – Silverado Gas Mileage – Repair History – Silverado Accessories – Buying A Chevy – About Us
Chevrolet plans on a complete redesign of the current Silverado for 2013 and the reviews are many and mixed. If what we are being shown today is the end product, it's going to be a real shakeup in the full sized truck market for sure.
Here is what we are hearing so far. The truck is being lightened to help meet the new government fuel mileage standards and the body is being redesigned to improve airflow to aid in mileage too. We also have wind of some new engines to be debuted that are a radically new design different from any previous engine from Chevrolet. One source suggests a turbocharged V-6 to compete with the eco-boost from Ford and the use of turbochargers or better yet superchargers to boost horsepower and torque in an environmentally responsible way.
The use of superchargers would be really big as the torque is boosted immediately from idle whereas the turbocharger need to spin up before any significant gains are noted. These new engines could also be used across the Chevy and GMC line of trucks, SUVs, and sedans to boost performance and increase mileage too.
This fall should reveal the truth and put some rumors to rest but for now we all can just look forward to something spectacular in the unveiling of the all new trucks from Chevrolet.
2013 Chevy Silverado, What's we know so far and what the rumors are telling us. Will the new 2013 Silverado have an all new engine? Sleek new sheetmetal? The unveiling is sure to shake up some of us die hard Chevy fans for sure.
